Ben R. Dabbs III, CPA, CITP, CBM and Jim Snitil, CBM worked together at a computer consulting company until they were downsized in early 2002. Encouraged by previous clients who had been well pleased with their service, Ben and Jim founded Abacus Consulting, Inc. on July 1, 2002 in Westfield Center to help small business owners plan for the success of their businesses and establish a pathway that led to that success. Abacus Consulting, Inc. is a small business accounting firm specializing in enabling new businesses to begin their corporate lives on firm financial footing. We help them acquire the proper documentation, set up their accounting systems, and prepare for taxes, in addition to providing them with general accounting services. We help them determine where they want to go, how they're going to get there, and where they are on the pathway to their goals.
When someone starts a new business, it is often because they are good at what they do, not necessarily because they are good with accounting. Beyond the local small businesses we work with, we have also done work for Timken, PolyOne, Progressive, and two international companies, one from Switzerland and one from the Philippines, who are opening up offices in the United States.
