With over twenty-five years in the animal care business, Denise Shafer's life revolves around animals. Actually, she can't remember a time in her life when she hasn't surrounded herself with animals big and small. She laughs when she tells you that even when she and her husband, Brad, go on a vacation or a day trip, they end up going to the zoo or taking the horses camping with them. Denise began her professional life by grooming dogs and when enough people kept asking her if she could keeps their dogs while they were away, Denise and Brad added a kennel. Bubbles N' Bows Shafer Farm Kennels provide full service boarding and grooming to fit your pet's individual needs. Their boarding service offers clean, stress-free, quiet, and comfortable surroundings in a country setting with private, roomy indoor and outdoor runs which are climate controlled. That sounds so nice I'm tempted to ask my wife if she'd consider boarding me there! They tailor their special care services to your pet's needs including dispensing medication, individual playtime or hand walking, multiple feedings, and other special needs. Their experience in field training dogs provided a natural showcase for their own Brittany Spaniels who have been proven field champions and show champions and it wasn't long before they began breeding the Brittanies, too. The field trials require a considerable amount of horse back riding so Denise began to look for a horse that would be comfortable to ride all day. Her search led her to the Peruvian breed, a very rare breed with only approximately 25,000 in existence. Shortly after acquiring her first Peruvian, Denise and Brad also began grooming and breeding Peruvian horses. Bubble N' Bows Shafer Farm Kennels also has a "catery" where they board cats in their own private area in large roomy condos that allow the cats to stretch and jump from shelf to shelf. They are highly recommended by many local vets to provide the care and attention that geriatrics require. Denise attributes her success in this business to listening to her clients and finding out exactly what they want. The first time an animal comes in to ge groomed, she asks the owner what they want her to do and how they want their pet to look when she's finished. When the pet owner returns for the second grooming, they usually tell her that their pet has been to other groomers and the others never asked them how they wanted their pet to look. In the highly competitive boarding business, Denise concentrates on making the experience stress-free for both the owner and their pet. Even though tending to the needs of all these animals makes for a long day filled with hard work, it's worth every moment to Denise. She's doing what she loves and loving what she does. Give her a call with your pet needs and I'm betting you'll be loving what she does, too. While you're on the phone with her, don't forget to tell her that The Advocate sent you! |
