Jason Carske first met a hammer at six years of age when his father was building his family's home. It was love at first sight for Jason, who graduated from the Medina County Career Center in 1992 knowing that he wanted to spend the rest of his life in the building industry. Jason accepting a job framing houses, where he worked right up till the day his boss announced that the business was closing. Without skipping a beat, Jason started Calibrated Construction, purchased his former employer's tools, took over the crew, and continued to keep his hammer busy.

Calibrated Construction ventured into deck building, and later expanded into home remodeling. When Jason and his wife Stacy decided to move from their townhouse, Jason built their first home, a 1,600 square foot ranch in Copley. Within a year, they longed to return to Medina County, and sold their home to the very first prospective buyer. After building a second new home for his family, Jason was asked to be the Project Manager for a thirty-one home North Olmsted development. Throughout the entire time, Calibrated Construction has continued to grow, both in size and in reputation.

We visited with Jason recently, and listened as he outlined his company's services and offerings;

Calibrated Construction is a general contracting company specializing in building homes, additions, and decks. We strive to build quality into each job, while still maintaining prices that our customers find affordable. Over the past ten years, we've completed many projects and made a lot of friends, with our reputation growing each step of the way.

My focus is on building a nice, family style home for you at a price you can afford. I strive to find an equitable balance between cost and quality, always opting for the higher quality that can be found for relatively little increase in cost. For example, rather than using standard 2 X 10s, I use I-joists, the silent floor systems, and I never use Styrofoam on the walls. I'm very proud of my work and want you to be proud of it, also.

I still love to build decks, and I'm a registered installer for TimberTech decks, although I will build wooden decks, too. A wooden deck is cheaper to build and will look great the day you build it, but it will only remain looking good with hours of yearly maintenance. TimberTech decks, on the other hand, are more expensive, but you end up with a low maintenance deck that resists heating and fading as it stays rich, vibrant, and naturally beautiful for years to come. Some people are looking for an economical deck as a center for family fun, while others are more concerned about future maintenance. Regardless of which type deck you choose, Remodeling Magazine's 2004 Cost vs. Value Reports estimates by adding a deck to your home, you'll receive an average of an 86.7% return on your investment when you decide to sell.

I'm proud of each home and deck I've built, and enjoy hearing previous customers tell me how pleased they are with our workmanship. I love being able to drive down a street and see a home, knowing that I've built it. My goal is to build what people want, at a price they can afford.
