My father's team in England won the Le Mans in 1956 so I grew up around racing cars and the automotive industry. In Britain, the only way to gain entry into the automotive business was through an apprenticeship. After graduating from high school when I was 15 years old, I entered my apprenticeship where I studied until I received my degree when I was 21.
After receiving my degree, I entered the military, ending up in the United States in 1965 doing service at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. After three years, I left the bureaucratic life and moved to Cleveland where I ran Jaguar Cleveland for quite a few years. I moved to Medina in 1980 and in 1985, opened my own automotive repair shop named DJG Motors.
