Michelle Lumadue has been working in beauty salons since she was only fourteen years old. Being around hair dressers each day, she saw how much they enjoyed their work and decided that she too wanted to become a hair stylist. After working at the Hinckley salon that was successively known as the Hinckley Hair-um, Tresses by Teresa, and then Eileen's Style Shop, she purchased the salon and went into business for herself as the Hinckley Hairworks Salon in 1983.

By 1998, the salon's business had grown to the point where their shop of five hundred square feet was simply too small to accommodate future growth. The solution came in the form of a move to their present location which quadrupled the size of their facility and allowed them to offer additional service to their clientele. Renamed as Hinckley Hairworks Salon & Day Spa, Michelle's salon continues to grow and provide excellent beauty and spa services to a very loyal group of clients. Michelle recently gave us this overview of the services she offers;

Hinckley Hairworks Salon & Day Spa offers a full line of services including creative hair styling, advanced coloring techniques, manicures, spa pedicures, tanning, facials, facial waxing, electrolysis, and massage services. With my staff, we provide state-of-the-art hair and spa services for men, women, and children.

We have five stylists at Hinckley Hairworks Salon & Day Spa and most of them have been here since we opened. Each of our stylists stays very involved with continuing education to make sure we're up to date on all of the latest trends and techniques. We use Matrix, Nexus, and Paul Mitchell products to guarantee professional results and we also make these brands available to our clients for their use at home.

We have four top of the line Tan-America tanning beds here to help our clients maintain a healthy skin tone and we have the "Cadillac" of pedicure chairs complete with massage units and a whirlpool foot bath. Manicures and pedicures are available and our state licensed masseuse provides all types of relaxing massages from shoulder massages to full body massages. As a working member of the staff, I give forty-five minute facials at very competitive prices and I also do facial waxing and electrolysis.

Our facials and electrolysis require an appointment, but, for hair cuts and styling, while we prefer to work by appointment so our clients don't have to wait, we also take walk-ins.
