John Seeholzer remembers the late sixties and early seventies when men began wearing longer hair and the traditional barbers didn't know how to give the haircuts their clients were wanting. Men with longer hair styles started to frequent barber stylists just to be able to find someone with the knowledge and skill needed to tame their longer manes. Witnessing this transition, John saw opportunity so he enrolled in school and earned his own barber license to fill this need. After more than twenty years "behind the shears" locally, he opened his own shop, Jon Salon, in March of 1999 and has been the man responsible for the fine cut look sported by his clientele ever since.

John's goal with Jon Salon was to build a shop that would stay small enough to provide the personal touch that makes each client feel . His favorite part of the business has always been the particular type of friendship that exists between himself and his clients. It's a relationship based on trust that grows over the years as his clients share stories about their families and what's going on in their lives and he tells them about his. Jon Salon is equally adept at both men's and women's hair styles and the shop is even divided into two separate areas, one being primarily a barbershop for the men and the other being the beauty salon for the ladies. Besides himself, the staff at the salon includes Meredith, a hair stylist that has been working with John for four years, and his nail tech, Mary, who has also been at Jon Salon for four years. Each of this dedicated trio continue to improve their skills by taking classes and attending seminars throughout the year to stay abreast of the latest techniques to help you look your best. The menu at the salon includes hair styling and coloring, hi-liting, manicures, and artificial nails. In recent years, John finds an increasing number of men who are not only having their hair cut, they're having it colored at the same time.

John attributes the success of Jon Salon to the very capable skills of Meridith and Mary and to the reputation he has garnered from his years of experience locally.
