With a degree from the Welding Technical Institute in Austria, Hans Leitner moved to the United States with his wife Brigitte in 1976. He worked for Reuther Mold & Manufacturing in Cuyahoga Falls from 1978 until he purchased their equipment and business and formed Leitner Fabrication, LTD in 1996. Leasing their building for three years, Leitner Fabrication remained in the Falls until they purchased land in Medina and built a new manufacturing facility in 1999. Their new location not only provides 44,000 square feet of state-of-the-art shop space, it's located right next door to their main customer, TLT Babcock, Inc. The parts that are made at Leitner Fabrication are very large and the cost of shipping playing a prominent role in their final pricing. Leitner Fabrication, LTD manufactures large industrial fans for coal-fired power plants, tunnels, rotating components for the utility industry, and tunnel boring machines for the mining industry. These fabrications range in size from 6 to 27 feet in diameter and in weight from 10,000 to 180,000 pounds. As the largest fan manufacturer in the U.S., we handle projects for major fan design companies such as TLT Babcock, Fläkt Woods, Howden Fan, and Twin City. Our balancing machine, one of the largest in Northeast Ohio, has a capacity of 100,000 pounds and we use a 70 ton crane to facilitate the movement of these large fabrications.

We have over twenty years experience welding for the axial and radial fan industry in addition to providing general and customized fabrications. Our experience includes working with A514, A517, and A588 materials and we have the capability to utilize special wear liner material such as AR400 and Chromium Carbide. With over 200 welding procedures in our database with materials varying from A36 mild steel to various types of quench and tempered steels and special alloys, we focus on delivering high quality work at an acceptable cost. Our shop has added machining to our list of capabilities with two vertical boring mills and a horizontal boring mill.
