Lloyd's Marathon was founded in Medina in 1950 and owner Jeff Pritchard began his career working with Lloyd in 1978. After buying the business in 1990, Jeff continued to expand Lloyd's reputation for towing and automotive repair and today Lloyd's has become a business on which many local residents depend. Now located on Lafayette Road, the business has been renamed as Lloyd's Towing and Jeff visited with us recently and outlined the services they offer;

Lloyd's Towing does a lot of towing and basic repairs such as brakes, exhaust, tune-ups, oil changes, and tires. We don't get into the major engine repairs but we do a lot of minor repairs like alternators, batteries, starters, and regular maintenance work. We usually take appointments for oil changes and repairs but we try to accommodate walk-ins as quickly as we can.

Our towing service is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We have two wreckers, a flat bed truck, a service truck, and a trailer that we use to haul motorcycles. The wreckers are used for pulling people out of spots and for towing. The flat bed truck is for hauling any of the four wheel drive vehicles that can't be towed, and our service truck responds to calls for people who are out of gasoline, need a tire changed, or need their vehicle's battery jumped. We do a lot of towing with AAA and we're one of their biggest contractors.

For general towing, we'll go just about anywhere. We respond to calls from Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, Youngstown, New York, and Pennsylvania and for AAA towing, we cover the Medina County area. We can tow trucks up to about a one ton box truck and for bigger trucks, we can recommend a company equipped for the larger sizes.

Our mechanical work is overseen by an excellent mechanic who has been with us for years and who has earned the trust and respect of all our customers.
