Jeff and Faye Farley have always loved animals, spending their free time visiting parks, zoos, and pet stores. After hearing on the radio about an alpaca showing, Jeff and Faye decided it would be interesting to go have a look, and the more they saw, the more they fell in love with the animals. Over the following months, they became more intrigued with the idea of raising alpacas. Realizing this was something they could do, they began to imagine a family business where they could work together without taking time away from their family. In 1994, Jeff and Faye founded Majestic Meadows Alpacas and purchased their first animal. Over the following years, Majestic Meadows Alpacas has become an overwhelming success, and the Farley family has built a lifestyle centered on profitably working and playing together. We stopped by Majestic Meadows Alpacas last week, and listened as Jeff and Faye spoke of their remarkable lifestyle;

Majestic Meadows Alpacas is a full service farm, specializing in raising, boarding, breeding, and providing stud service for alpacas. We give tours, sell fiber, and do birthings. We offer everything you can think of when it comes to alpacas.

We sell all types of alpacas, from crias (baby alpacas) to young males, breeding males, maiden females, and females almost ready to give birth. We offer a variety of colors and qualities, and presently have a stock of 62 animals with 10 more babies due by the end of the year. We breed for top quality, and have one male that has never been beaten in the show ring. He's reputed to be one of the best male alpacas in the United States, as well as internationally. At the last show, one of the judges commented that she'd never in her life seen fleece of this high quality.

Our main focus is on providing excellent customer service. We want to make sure that when people get in business with us, they're able to make a nice profit. We help them decide which animal is the right one for them, and we strive to make sure they're completely happy from the day of their purchase until they make their first sale.

The alpaca business is far more lucrative than most businesses, and the tax advantages are equal or better than you'll find with real estate. One of the biggest advantages, although, is that you can create your own business and involve your entire family. Our children help us with the feeding, cleaning, and watering, and stay quite involved in the business. Unlike most businesses, the alpaca business doesn't require 80-100 hours a week of your time. While building a financially rewarding business, we have plenty of time together as a family for all the things we want to do, such as attending baseball games and going on vacation.
