The Medina Gymnastics Academy was started August 1996 and was in 2002 was purchased by Jocelyne Textoris, a coach with over twenty years experience. The primary goal of the Medina Gymnastics Academy is to ensure that their program delivers more than just physical development. Properly taught, gymnastics teaches self-esteem, self motivation, self discipline, dedication, determination, work ethic, time management, team work, team spirit, leadership, sportsmanship, respect for others, poise, and grace. The Medina Gymnastics Academy measures their success not by the number of trophies on the wall, but rather on what each child can take with them once they leave the sport of gymnastics.

The gymnastic school typically operates on a September to September schedule with classes that are broken down into sessions of usually eight or nine weeks each. The Medina Gymnastics Academy offers a wide variety of classes including preschoolers who range from fifteen months of age to kindergarten age. When the child begins to attend first grade, they advance to the recreational levels. These levels follow the Junior Olympic program meaning that a child will start at a beginner's level and work their way from Level 1 to Level 5. Also in this program, a child can elect to take a tumbling-only class and/or a cheerleading class. The team program and the cheerleading competitive program are by invitation and selection by staff members. The Medina Gymnastics Academy currently has team gymnasts competing at Level 4 through Level 10. The Academy offers private lessons, open gym, and birthday parties for members and non-members alike.
