While staying at home to raise her son, Patricia Wagner, CPA thought her accounting diploma might hang over her washing machine forever. It was a time when women weren't being hired for accounting positions with any power or authority, and good accounting jobs were hard to come by in the local area. Patricia knew there was a niche for an accountant who would provide individuals and small businesses with good accounting advice and services without charging an arm and a leg. In 1982 she placed an ad in the paper offering to do tax returns, and her business began to grow. Patricia formally founded PHK CPA, Inc. in 1983, and eventually bought out two other accounting practices, and in 1999 moved her home-based business to new facilities in Seville.
