From Our Family to Yours

When Raymond Pierce was younger, his family always went to parks for rides and picnics. Recalling the wonderful times they had, Raymond decided to make those experiences available to others by turning rural Medina farmland into one of the area's favorite summertime destinations. Together with his wife Nancy, he built and stocked a gorgeous five acre lake and on July 4, 1969 opened Pier-Lon Park Campground with fifty campsites. Today, his dream has grown into a 350 campsite recreational facility owned and operated by Raymond and Nancy, their son Raymond and daughter Lorie, and Lorie's family which includes her husband Gene and son Jimmy. We visited with Nancy and Lorie recently and listened as they gave us a guided tour;

Pier-Lon Park Campground is a family oriented campground offering full tenting and camping facilities in addition to many recreational activities. Our reputation for relaxation and quality family time has made us a favorite destination for camping clubs, families, church groups, reunions, and Scouting organizations.

All of our camping sites have water and electric hook-ups and we also have sites with sewer hook-ups available. We have both 30 amp and 50 amp electrical service and offer pull-thru and back-in sites. Each site comes equipped with its own fire ring and picnic table and we also have grills at our two enclosed and one open pavilion. Pier-Lon Park Campground provides hot showers and flush toilets and we have an on-site laundromat.

Our beautiful five acre lake features an area for swimming, fishing, and paddle boating exclusively for our campers. We have Red Cross certified lifeguards on duty and we offer several Red Cross aquatics programs ranging from Community Water Safety to Learning to Swim and Lifeguard Training. Swimming privileges are also available to local residents through our membership program.

We have a game room, playground, and baseball diamond and provide a wide range of family style activities that include volleyball, horseshoes, hiking, basketball, and hayrides. There are crafts for the children and we have bingo on Saturday nights. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, we have church services with a gospel group every Sunday. Throughout the season, we have many potluck dinners and the campers have their own flea markets on the holidays.

Our concession stand offers penny candy, ice cream, and pop for the youngsters and our hot fudge sundaes and slushies are simply excellent! Internet access is available in the office/concession stand whenever you feel it fits best. We have propane available for campers needing to refill their tanks and we always make sure we keep plenty of ice on hand.

We strive to keep the campground very clean and we put a lot of emphasis on keeping our facility beautifully landscaped. We do allow pets and bicycles although alcoholic beverages are strictly forbidden. Pier-Lon Park Campground is a wonderfully relaxing environment provided by our family for yours!
