Your Neighborhood Coffeehouse

Sonnet's Café was founded in Wooster in 1993 by Andrew Sonnet. Current owner Todd Power drove down to take a look at the café the day after Christmas that year, and six days later became the new owner. Todd laughs as he says, "My wife sent me out to buy an expresso machine, and I came back with the whole darn store!" With his wife Kathie, Todd opened a second location in a tiny corner of 117 College Street in Wadsworth in 1994. Due to the demand for great coffee, Sonnet's Café now occupies the entire building, in addition to hosting another location in the Food Court of the Outlet Mall in Lodi. We met with Todd and Manager Jeremy Johnson recently, and listened as they described the offerings of this popular neighborhood gathering spot;

Sonnet's Café proudly serves the "Best Shot of Coffee in the Midwest". We're offer gourmet coffees, specialty coffee drinks, breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, Paninis, wraps, and light pastries, in addition to free wireless Internet access. Boars Head meats and cheeses, known for being all-natural with no preservatives and totally safe for those on special diets, are not only used in all of our sandwiches but are also available by the pound at our deli counter.

Our coffees are custom-roasted for us by Staufs' Coffee Roasters in Columbus, and are the finest blends you'll find anywhere. We provide a nice atmosphere for meeting with friends, and a convenient spot to grab a quick bite to eat. We're kind of like "Cheers" without the alcohol. It's a nice friendly place, and after you've been here once or twice, out staff knows your name, your likes, and your dislikes.

Our breakfast menu includes Egg-el Bagel sandwiches, Sonnet's stuffed French toast, and a variety of tantalizing sweet treats. Salad-lovers will appreciate our Ginger Chicken Salads, Cobb Salads, Spinach Salads, Chicken Cashew Salads, and Chef Salads. Sandwiches include Turkey and Swiss, Honey Mustard Turkey Pretzel Sandwiches, Ham and Cheese Pretzel Sandwiches, Italian Clubs, Traditional Three Layer Clubs, and Turkey Provolone Paninis. Our wraps are available as Chicken Ranch Wraps, Ginger Chicken Wraps, Veggie Wraps, Turkey Club Wraps, Raspberry Chicken Wraps, and White French Wraps, in addition to Turkey Garden and BLT Wraps.

Sunday mornings the Grace Lutheran Church Adult Sunday School class meets here. Tuesday evenings we have the Kiwanis for a dinner meeting, and on the second and fourth Wednesdays you'll find Bob Wood hosting "Open Mic". Friday and Saturday evenings usually feature live entertainment. You may hear a Kentucky State Champion Dulcimer Player, a would-be country singer, fiddle or keyboard player, The Orchards, Steve Miracle, Jim Gill, or Different Directions from Orville.

Sonnet's Café is dedicated to providing you with friendly service, great products, and the ultimate in warm, friendly hospitality. Stop by Sonnet's Café today, and don't forget to tell them The Advocate sent you!
