Since his high school days in the early 1960s, Larry Good has been earning a reputation as the man to see whenever a piece of heavy equipment needs a repair or a custom fabricated solution. In response to his employer's downsizing in 2003, Larry founded Tinker's Shop to continue to offer his specialized services to local farmers, truckers, and owners of other heavy equipment who's livelihood depends on equipment running smoothly and productively. We visited with Larry recently, and listened as he offered this overview of the services his company provides;

Tinker's Shop specializes in repairing and providing fabrication services for a wide range of heavy equipment. We repair Class 8 trucks, bulldozers, earth movers, in addition to installing trailer hitches and performing frame work for anything that goes on the back of a truck. We do hard facing, build the big prongs used to pick up hay bales and handle just about any type of fabrication needed for farm or heavy equipment. In case the machinery is broken and can't be moved, I have a service truck outfitted with a crane, welder, and air compressor that enables me to do on-site work.

We're a small company and offer personalized service based on accuracy and doing things right. I handle most of the work myself with the assistance of Ed Violett, an acquaintance of forty years who is very meticulous in his efforts. Ed and I pride ourselves on accuracy and make sure that every piece of work we do reflects our dedication to doing the job right.
