Local musicians have been drawn to Wadsworth Music since it opened in the mid 1990s. John O'Leary began giving guitar lessons at the store in 1997, and when the store was up for sale a few years later, he and his wife Susan, also a musician, decided that owning a music store would fit nicely with their backgrounds. They purchased Wadsworth Music in 2002, and have continued to build the business and a reputation as the "musical hub" of the Wadsworth community. We visited with John and Susan recently, and listened as they introduced us to their products and services;

Wadsworth Music is a full service music store offering instrument sales, service, and rentals, in addition to voice and instrument lessons. We offer lessons on just about any instrument you can imagine, from piano to guitar, violin, drums, and band instruments, and we carry a variety of starter to professional level instruments starting as low as $100.00 in price. We perform repair service for all types of instruments and we carry a wide selection of accessories, such as picks, strings, tuners, reeds, and cleaning kits.

We take pride in our personalized instrument repair services, and can many times perform repairs while you wait. In addition to servicing instruments that have been purchased here, we also repair and service those that have been purchased elsewhere. We've noticed many people buying their instruments online in the past several years, but they come to Wadsworth Music for their lessons, repairs, and their instructional books, videos, and accessories.

Our music lessons are available to students of all ages. We have a violin student who began taking lessons at four years of age, guitar students as young as five years old, and voice students who begin lessons after their voice changes in their early to mid-teens. We also have senior citizens who are learning to play the banjo and the piano.

Our bulletin board has become a focal point for local musicians and band members. Musicians will post notices that they're looking for other band members, maybe a drummer or a bass player, and a lot of good relationships are started as a result of these postings. Students find others who share their interests, they'll hit it off, and start their own band.

We've built a nice reputation based on the quality of our service, and our ability to satisfy our customers' needs. When you're a musician, there's always something music-related that you need.
